Personal and Business Banking (PBB)

Would you bank on you?

Ask yourself, “Would I be able to provide products and services that continue to work for my clients long after the close of business?” Of course you would, right? But would you really trust yourself to take on that kind of financial responsibility? If you can honestly say yes, without looking away, you might just be what we want.

What is Personal and Business Banking?

Personal and Business Banking offers leading banking and other financial services to individual customers, small and medium enterprises in South Africa and 13 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Argentina.

Our strategy is to serve the full value chain of customers in our domestic operation, from the most basic to the most sophisticated of financial services needs – and to maintain high standards of customer service and cost effective delivery channels.

In facilitating the growth of operations in new markets, and the provision of a full-service retail and commercial banking offering in Africa, we continue to invest in management and infrastructure capacity and the enhancement of the branch network.

What we do:

Transactional Products: A comprehensive suite of transactional, savings and investment products is offered to customers. This includes deposit-taking activities, electronic banking and debit card facilities.

Lending Products: Our lending solutions are suitable to both personal and business markets. Personal lending includes unsecured lending and student loans. Business lending includes flexible solutions such as commercial property finance, equity and leveraged finance, as well as working capital finance.

Card Products: These products include the credit card facilities that are supplied to individuals and businesses (credit card issuing), as well as merchant transaction acquiring services (card acquiring).

Mortgage Lending: Our team provides residential accommodation loans to customers, including affordable housing.

Instalment Sale and Finance Leases: Our offering provides solutions for the financing of vehicles for personal market customers, as well as financing of vehicles and equipment for customers in the business market.

Bankassurance: The provision of short- to long-term insurance products and financial planning services to clients.

Where we do it

PBB has presence in 19 African countries, as well as offshore banking operations in the Isle of Man, Jersey and the Mauritian trust company.

Our banking products and mechanisms aim to reach potential customers inside and outside the economic mainstream. In terms of business sector expertise, we focus on commercial customers, small and medium enterprises, agriculture, franchising, as well as the public sector.

What you'll get

We're committed to quality and value in everything we offer our customers. And because you'll contribute to both from the moment you join us, it's only fair we recognise the quality you bring. And just how much we value it.

You'll see it in how we manage and reward your performance, as well as the extra benefits you could be entitled to – perhaps even shares in the bank. It all depends on the programme you choose, plus one huge factor: you.

How you'll grow

We strive to push our bank forward so we can effect real, positive change for the communities we work in today, and those we hope to work in tomorrow. But nothing's more important than helping our people push themselves forward and expand their potential.

Your core training is adapted to the programme you choose. But everything else is down to you. Right here is a world of development opportunities – anything from shadowing senior colleagues to sharing expertise at international conferences – and a continent of untapped potential. Your chances; your choices.
